Description
This solo by Kenneth Downie is a welcome addition to the tenor horn repertoire. The composer writes:
‘This is a lively, sometimes slightly scary solo for Eb tenor horn and piano. The title Trapeze gives an indication of the exciting, daredevil character of most of the music, which should be fun to play and listen to. There is a brief moment of calm… possibly the trapeze artist has a philosophical, reflective view on the dangers of circus life, before deciding that it is the only life for him/her. The thrills outweigh the dangers!’
